　　应惟谦艾滋法律中心和全国艾滋病信息资源网络-CHAIN的邀请，南非艾滋法律项目负责人Mark Heywood将于12月4-10日来华访问。访问目的是，从法律、感染者权利和在保护受艾滋病影响人群的过程中律师的重要地位、公民社会的参与、民间组织的作用等角度进一步探讨艾滋病防治过程中面临的诸多问题。

　　12月8日，我们特别邀请Mark Heywood与民间组织工作者展开一个对话，就艾滋病防控工作中草根组织的发展、以及弱势人群的保护等议题进行讨论。

Invitation to the Session of NGO development and disadvantaged population protection

Mark Heywood, Executive Director of AIDS Law Project in Southern Africa is invited by WeiQian AIDS Law Center and China HIV/AIDS Information Network to visit China during Dec. 4^th to 9^th. His visit is to discuss topics such as lawyers'effect, civil society's involvement with NGOs in our combat against AIDS .

Introduction of Mark Heywood

Mark received his BA Hons(Oxford.) in 1986. Thereafter he was involved for a decade in the anti-apartheid struggle from London and later South Africa. Between 1990 and 1994 he completed his MA in African literature (Wits).

 

Mark joined the AIDS Law Project (ALP) in 1994, becoming project head in 1997. He has written numerous articles on AIDS, the law and human rights, and is a co-editor of HIV/AIDS and the Law. He assisted with the drafting of key human rights documents such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Code on HIV/AIDS and Employment and the United Nations International Guidelines on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights. He is National Secretary of the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) and the Deputy Chair of the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC).
