Announcement: Launch of revised CHAIN website

Notice is hereby given that a revised China HIV/AIDS Information Network (CHAIN) Chinese website will be officially launched on July 1st, 2007. The address of the website will remain unchanged: www.chain.net.cn

Prior to the launch, CHAIN established a temporary web address (http://new.chain.net.cn) for preview, and received many suggestions, recommendations and comments. Many thanks to all the users for your help and advice!

The new website will cover more perspectives and relevant topics to keep you up-to-date with HIV/AIDS prevention and control all over China. The site features: Latest News, providing the latest relevant news, meetings and highlights; Policy and Statutes, bringing together national and local policies and strategy papers; National Programs, tracking the most influential players in China’s fight against HIV/AIDS, including SCAWCO, CHARTS, UN agencies, and Global Fund; Social Involvement, providing a platform to show the roles and achievements of NGOs; Project Examples, making available experience and lessons from previous projects; Funding and Grants, bridging the gap between donors and applicants; Resource Center, a digital library in which users can search for and review information materials; and Project Map, providing a list of ongoing projects through a map-based interface. Finally, through columns such as View Point, the revised CHAIN website also seeks to provoke more thought and discussion about the relationship between HIV and other development issues, such as migration and mobility.

As one of the most important information providers in the HIV/AIDS field, CHAIN will continue to provide high quality information to government departments at all levels, UN agencies, international and local NGOs, academic institutions, social workers, people living with HIV and AIDS, and the general public. CHAIN is also contributing to specific project outputs by providing an information package and services tailored to partners’ needs, such as CHARTS.

We sincerely encourage your feedback on the revised website, and also invite you to submit information to be shared and disseminated through the CHAIN network. Please note, revision of the English website is also being planned. Hopefully, by the end of 2007 the new face of CHAIN’s English website will be unveiled. If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions please send them to: postmaster@chain.net.cn, or contact CHAIN on +86-10-83133253.
